As many of you know, I am a VIP Blogger for Duane Reade here in NY ( part of the Walgreens Family). I was invited for a media tour of their newest location at 100 Broadway in the Wall Street area (Press Release). While others were excited by the beauty section or hair care, I am easily persuaded by food. And this Duane Reade has something for everyone.. and I mean everyone. I can satisfy my health niche and my gluttony all in one location. Let’s get it in!
Food glorious food. An array of options are available and I will gladly indulge in most of them.
Salads are a great meal option at any point in the day, even breakfast. The Chop bar provides affordable options starting at 6.99 for a salad with unlimited veggie add-ins. I will be visiting the salad bar this week with my sister!
For anyone who knows me, I always say soup is one of my superfoods. I love soup. This will become an invaluable resource for me come winter time.
How exciting is this? Duane Reade, to my knowledge (since I know the skus of like every health food store in New York) is probably the first to carry Almond Dream Yogurt! *insert happy dance* They also carry a few items for vegan confectionery Sweet and Sara. It is probably the most affordable price in the city, with their variety pack selling at $3.99! Thank me later.
Do you know how many times I feel left out when there are not non-dairy milk options besides soy milk? It is not fun. But kudos to Duane Reade for being aware and making soy, almond, and rice milk options available in their their Café!
Being here makes me happy; my inner, former chubby gal dances through the aisles in delight.
