When I got asked to shadow Carmelo Anthony for a day as he debuted PowerCoco aka #TNGSD (The Next Generation Sports Drink), I said absolutely. Not only do I appreciate the brand and it’s intentions, but I also appreciate Carmelo choosing to emphasis and promote healthier products. Watch the following video to get a feel for the days’ experience.

Carmelo gives advice on eating healthy and staying motivated to workout! I got a kick out of filming and editing this one.

Carmelo is the EVP (Executive Vice President of Innovation) for the brand and it helps that he is also a parent creating better options for his son and all kids. I like PowerCoco for the following reasons: 5 grams of sugar, only 25 calories, and it has coconut water. I’d choose this drink as the ultimate option for athletes as I notice during the season, many players look dehydrated. That is because they are putting out a lot of energy, burning lots of calories, and aren’t receiving proper replacement of nutrient rich hydration. Now, they have a convenient, healthier option. This is also a great option for kids.
